My background and skills

I have been working for the Trafford Community Neuro-Rehab team since 2001 and have recently taken over the stroke side, where I continue to work two days a week. I have specialised in Neurology for over 20 years and was involved in setting up the original stroke unit at Warrington General Hospital.

My background is based in the Bobath normal movement approach and I have consolidated that over the years with courses in soft tissue/sports massage, muscle imbalance and Pilates.

I have become very adept at postural and movement analysis, and due to the demands on the NHS, at maximising treatment outcomes through individually designed exercise programmes.

I have experience at treating a wide variety of Neurological conditions, the most common of which are:

  • Stroke
  • Multiple Sclerosis
  • Parkinson’s
  • Transverse Myelitis
  • Cerebral Palsy
  • Guillain Barre
  • Ataxia
